Kalervo Virtanen in Atlantic convoys, in internment camps and in the US Navy

Kalervo Virtanen was born in 1920 as the 12th of 13 children. He had the idea of going to sea, as he worked a few summers in his brother’s motor boat, carrying passengers to islands off Helsinki.
