Model of a wooden sailing ship

The model was acquired as instruction material in the art of shipbuilding in Rauma Maritime School in the 1890’s. No correspondence related to the acquisition remains, and the builder of the model is unknown. Shipbuilding became an obligatory subject in 1863 (His Imperial Majesty’s Gracious Regulation for Finnish Maritime Schools).
