Launched by S.A. Juliana Constructora Gijonesa, Gijon (#252), after having been named LOTILA the previous day by Mrs. Irma Pöyhönen.

 

 

25.11.1977:

Completed and delivered to Yhtyneet Paperitehtaat Oy, (United Paper Mills Ltd.), Rauma /Raumo (627), (c/o Oy Finnlines Ltd., Helsinki /Helsingfors).

 

 

13.1.1983:

Put into F-ships pool transatlantic contract service to/from USEC and Canada as a vessel of Neste Oy.

 

 

22.5.1986:

Flagged out by a sale to Lotila Shipping Ltd., a subsidiary of United Paper Mills Ltd. in George Town, Cayman Islands. Delivered and hoisted Cayman flag on 11 June. Bareboat-chartered back to United Paper Mills Ltd. Managers remained Oy Finnlines Ltd.

 

 

 13.4.1987:

Transferred to Bahamas flag with Nassau as home port.

 

 

31.5.1989:

Sold to FCRS-Shipping Ltd., Nassau, (Finncarriers Oy Ab, Helsinki) and delivered on 3 June. Managers remained Oy Finnlines Ltd,  which on July 1 renamed FG-Shipping Oy Ab. Continued in F-ships pool service.

 

 

19.2.1993:

Sold to Amer-Yhtymä Oy, Helsinki (1869) and delivered on 24 Feb. Bareboat-chartered to Finnlines Oy and further to Finncarriers Oy Ab. Managers remained FG-Shipping Oy Ab and still employed in F-ships pool.

 

 

29.3.1993:

Entered in the Finnish parallel Register of Merchant Vessels engaged in International Trade.

 

 

1.11.1993:

New national reg.No. 10170.

 

 

15.11.1993:

Remeasured in accordance with the 1969 Convention as follows:

27.7.1995:

Sold to Atlas Navigation Co. Ltd., Panama, (c/o Regal Agencies Corp., [T.A. Tsakiri], Piraeus), and renamed CLIPPER FAME, when delivered on Aug. 3. Remained, however, in F-ships pool service until Feb. 23, 1996.

 

 

1998:

Renamed KENT RELIANT by Atlas Navigation Co. Ltd., Panama, when chartered to Kent Line Ltd., Saint John, N.B.

 

 

2000:

Grounded on 18 Sep. off San Juan, Puerto Rico whilst entering the port bound from St. John, Canada with 8,500 tons of newsprint and timber. After lightening she was refloated on 2 Oct. by Titan Maritime Co.with the assistance of  5 tugs, and after examination towed to the port for discharge of her cargo.

 Hull damage is severe and the vessel is offered for sale.
