24.3.1906:

Order placed by H. Kirschner, Kjøbenhavn  with A/S Burmeister & Wain´s Maskin- og Skibsbyggeri, Kjøbenhavn (#261).

 

 

15.11.1907:

Launched by Burmeister & Wain in Kjøbenhavn and named WASHINGTON.

 

 

16.1.1908:

Completed and delivered to A/S Dampskibsselskabet H. Kirschner, (H. Kirschner), Kjøbenhavn.

 

 

23.12.1909:

Sold to Dampskibsselskabet Neptun A/S, (C.K. Hansen), Kjøbenhavn, and renamed LILLEBORG.

 

 

5.10.1912:

Sold to Dampfschiffsrhederei "Seefahrt" A.G., (F.H. Bertling), Bremen, and renamed ADRANA.

 

 

8.1914:

Requisitioned at Rouen by the French Government, and renamed MARGUERITE VI. Fitted as a Q-vessel in Le Havre, armed with four 75 mm guns and four MG. Conversion completed in Feb. 1915. Two forward 75 mm guns were replaced by two Japanese 47 mm guns in May 1916.

 

 

1917:

Damaged on 15 Mar. in action with a German submarine. Repaired at Rochefort and all guns were replaced by four 75 mm ones of 1916 model.

All through WW I served the French Government with honours.

 

 

1917:

Got into gun duel with the German submarine UC 69 on 17 June 13 miles north of San Sebastian. During the fight with the submarine she received several severe hits and a fire broke out on board. She, however, managed to get into St. Jeans de Luz as a port of refuge. from there she proceeded in Nov. to Rochefort for repairs. The crew and the vessel herself were rewarded by the President, M. Poincaré.

 

 

1918:

Returned in March into service as escort vessel in the Navy. Later used as a coaling vessel. Disarmed in Nov. and used for transport service along the coast of Morocco. Finally laid up in Nov. 1919 in Dunkerque.

 

 

1923:

Taken over by the Swedish Consul, T.A. Berggren, and sailed to Sweden.

 

 

17.5.1923:

Sold to Mellersta Sveriges Sockerfabrikers Ab., Lidköping, and renamed HELLE. (7020)

 

 

31.7.1923:

Sold to Rederiab. Kinnevik, (P. Anderson), (Mellersta Sveriges Sockerfabrikers Ab.), Lidköping.

 

 

31.10.1936:

Owners merged into Svenska Sockerfabriksab., (C.F. Tranchell), Lidköping.

 

 

5.1937:

Home port changed to Malmö.

 

 

23.4.1959:

Acquired by  Ilmari Tuuli, Helsinki /Helsingfors, but registered as MARKUS in Rauma /Raumo (597).

 

 

26.2.1962:

Sold to Herbert Wietzke, Kiel, and renamed ÄOLUS.

 

 

19.11.1962:

Laid up in Kiel due to continuous boiler and engine trouble.

 

 

1964:

Sold on 12 Apr. to Chr. Løgstrup for demolition in Randers, where arrived in tow from Kiel on 29 May.
