The ship portrait collection of Shipmaster Jouko Rajahalme

Framed ship photos are regularly offered for our museum collections. The photos have decorated the household walls of seafarers – in many cases, retired seafarers. Photos of ships on board which a sailor worked during his career, obviously convey a lot of memories. They also tell a visitor something about the life and values of the home owner. Ship portraits can also be found on the walls of shipbuilders or maritime enthusiasts.
