Housing construction by Rauma shipyards

In the post-war conditions, it was necessary to construct housing in order to find labour force for the shipyards. The production of the shipyards of Rauma-Raahe, later Rauma-Repola and Hollming, started with war reparations. At a time of strict rationing, the shipyards could have access to construction materials. Wood construction was the only option until the war reparations were eased.
